Ever. But then, that's the topic for yet another blog!

I think all sorts of horse shows are fun. They don't have to be big whoop-tee-dos. The important thing is to have fun. That and the preparation: spending half a day grooming your horse; getting yourself all dolled up; memorizing your patterns or courses and--- being with your friends (two-legged and four-legged).

By the way, I'd LOVE to see a Percheron in western tack. I'll bet she's a comfortable mare to ride!Cindy Halehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06826221923988198322noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6817758588420976932.post-75499604622829135472008-09-09T20:46:00.000-07:002008-09-09T20:46:00.000-07:00Shows like that are so enjoyable to watch! its alm...Shows like that are so enjoyable to watch! its almost painful to watch psycho horses ridden by green riders at shows, so some professionals on nice horses are sure a sight for sore eyes sometimes!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6817758588420976932.post-75527609903225546742008-09-09T13:54:00.000-07:002008-09-09T13:54:00.000-07:00Aww. When I go to the all-speed-events show, I KNOW I am not going to compete for a ribbon. I go to enjoy being around horse people. And if me and my too- pudgy gelding make a barrel run in 36 seconds, hey, at least we made it!
The other small show I go to has classes I can actually compete to win in. miniature halter (Huge grin, I know.. I know!) Open halter.. western pleasure.. the egg and spoon race. (skipper isn't going to go fast, and he's perfectly happy to walk back to the gate without making me drop the egg! (how cheesy, huh? but it's fun!)
I would LOVE to have the chance to watch high-class horses jump. It has to be awesome!
JamieAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6817758588420976932.post-71802333214914359942008-09-09T06:50:00.000-07:002008-09-09T06:50:00.000-07:00I would love to show but when you go to county fai...I would love to show but when you go to county fairs, so much of it is who knows the judges personally and not that you and your horse may be better than someone else. Plus, with my mare Emma being a Percheron, you don't see too many of them in Western Pleasure classes. But to me, she would win the blue ribbon every time!

GwenAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
